See, when he was just three weeks old, his parents were told that he had Hydrocephalus.
Hydrocephalus is a build up of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the ventricles of the brain because of a blockage of some kind. In Duke’s case that blockage was the clots of his brain bleeds not allowing the fluid to flow back through its typical return pathways into the body.
Duke's parents were told to expect the worst. But after many medical tests and ongoing therapies, Duke has defied the odds. In an attempt to keep his body physically engaged, Duke received his first set of plastic golf clubs at the age of 2. He instantly fell in love with the game! Little did anyone know at the time, that Duke would go on to be the youngest golfer in the Operation 36 program to hit a hole-in-one during a 9-Hole event.
